Arlington Boulevard BAPTIST C H U R C H

The last few years have brought a renewed dedication and commitment to the church’s vision and mission. With this renewed sense the people who make up the family known as Arlington Boulevard Baptist Church are again on the move. The church continues to grow both spiritually and numerically. The opportunity to see God at work in the life of the church and its membership continues to call us one and all together to be His servants in this place. The ability to experience the presence of real love and concern for one another is a strong cord that binds us together as God’s people in the place. |

As the history of our church family continues to develop there continue to be a number of major changes in our church family that are of historical interest. Sadly, one of the first that comes to mind is the loss of a number of our long term members, many of which were leaders. One of the changes this has brought about is the development of some new leadership within our church family. These deaths even though sad for our church, have brought about real spiritual growth in some of our younger members. |
|
This transition in our church will provide a new foundation for the future of our congregation. Many of those who have depended on others to provide the leadership of the church are now becoming the ones who must make the decisions and follow through in accomplishing the tasks. It is wonderful and exciting to watch the maturing process in these individuals. It is equally interesting to see the changes in the congregation and the church as a result of these changes in membership and leadership. |

A second major development has been the church’s decision to adopt a Master Plan for future building needs of the church. The Master Plan provides and organized means for adding additional building space and the reorganization of the square footage we currently have. It also provides a picture for how we can update our current facilities to make them a great deal more functional and efficient. To achieve the overall goals of the Master Plan the church will have to build a New Fellowship Hall, Covered Drop-Off, and Steeple Tower, not to mention the renovation work on our current facilities. The church agreed to seek to accomplish these goals in three phases. |
|
The first phase originally was going to be the building of the new Fellowship Hall, Steeple Tower, and Covered Drop Off. However after much discussion and seeking God’s leadership the church decided to make Phase One the renovation of the educational space and Church Office that is parallel to Dunn Street. For the sake of the historical record this change in direction first began while a number of members were working on a previously planned Work Day to install the Children’s Play ground equipment and generally clean up the church. You never know what you might be missing by not attending and helping with a Work Day in our church. A later church conference ratified this change in direction. |
