Step FOUR Accepting Jesus requires that you BELIEVE AND CONFESS that JESUS is who He CLAIMS to be, the Son of God, who gave Himself for humanity.
Romans 10:9-10, 13 (NASV) (9) “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; (10) for with the heart man believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.”
(13) “for ‘WHOEVER WILL CALL UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED’.”
If you have never accepted Jesus into you heart, let me encourage you to do so today. A simple prayer in which you admit that you are a sinner and ask forgiveness for your sins, and you invite Jesus into you heart is all that God requires. The point of the prayer is for you to admit that you are a sinner, to confess your sins, to seek God’s help to turn from your sins, and to invite Jesus into your heart while voicing your belief that Jesus is the only one who can forgive you of your sins. Doing so will invite the peace everyone seeks but only He can provide.
Example of Prayer of Acceptance Heavenly Father, I realize I am a sinner; I am sorry for my sins and ask you to forgive me of my sins. I ask that you come into my life as my Savior and Lord. I believe that your Son Jesus came to this world an offered Himself on the cross for my sins. I invite Jesus to come into my heart, Heavenly Father.
In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
